Archives!An archive houses valuable resources, most of which are primary. For example: original photographs, newspaper clippings, and interviews/documents by people related to the event.

Libraries!Libraries are a useful resource because they can help you find more information. They could also may have primary sources, such as newspapers and microfilms, that you can utilize for your project.

Internet!The internet is a valuable resource to introduce you to a topic. Databases may also provide access to scholarly articles for your project.

How to navigate an Archive
Make an AppointmentIf you're planning on visiting an archive, make sure to check in with the head archivist to plan a visit. You can tell them what your topic is and they will help find resources that will be the best for your topic.

Be Careful with Artifacts/DocumentsRemember that these objects might be older than you, so handle them with care! Don't take things off shelves that aren't already on the table. Ask an archivist to assist you.

Don't be Afraid to Ask
Archivists are your friends! If you have a question or want to see additional artifacts, the archivist(s) are there to help. They can also help scan documents or images you find interesting. All you have to do is ask!
